
The building volume is devided in two and split apart to improve both physical and visual permeability. The two volumes of the concert halls are covered with a single continious surface, which serves as a public square. The tall space between the volumes of the concert halls and the outer shell creates the feeling of openness and spaciousness. The openings in the roof allow indirect light in which softly falls through the curved walls of foyer. The building invites for interaction. The inclined public square ontop of the building offers a seamless access to the rooftop and further to the waterfront. The amphitheater creates a link from the rooftop public square to the waterfront. The elevated point of view offers panoramic views to the skyline of Kaunas old town. The river bank slope houses natural terraces which together with the amphitheatre can act both as a meeting place to ejoy the views and as an event venue.
