Building’s architectural idea is to create a highly reflective object inclined in a specific angle, that allows visitors to start enjoying a spectacular city’s panorama already from the bottom of the hill. From other city’s observation points, like Gediminas castle or highrise buildings on the other shore of Neris river, Concert Hall’s facade would allow the spectators to have a glimpse at the colorful landscape of Taurakalnis.
Regular shaped box was chosen for the Nacional Concert Hall in order not to compete with the views that it is supposed to reflect. Inclination of the building gives an impression of a cuboid sunk into terrain and creates a distincitive silhouette of the building. Since the roof is descending towards panoramic view, it allows to have a rooftop terrace, from where restaurant visitors could enjoy the cityscape.
