The planned plots of Krokuvos st. 24, 26 are the historical territory of changing Šnipiskes, district, which will soon become part of the new business centre of Vilnius City.
The surrounding area of the plots is extremely contrasting. On the Neris side, the rapidly developing new Vilnius center is creating one of the most modern Northern European business regions. On the northern side, the plots border on the traditional wooden, rather abandoned homestead architecture of Šnipiškės, the future of which is still unclear.
The planned high-rise mixed-use complex will not only strengthen the idea of Urban Hill, but will also create a new Skansen work-life-leisure center, which will significantly contribute to the further development of the area.
The building, which has three different typologies, is united by a single façade structure. The residential purpose of the facade grid is distinguished by architectural details and material solutions. Each apartment has a balcony, which gives a sense of vitality to the neat structure of the facade. The apartments in different layouts are planned with different shapes and sizes of balconies, which give the whole building a lively playfulness. The composition of the upper part is crowned by panoramic apartments with windows over two floors of the building.
The residential building offers human-scale architectural elements ensuring home feeling: wooden, windows divided more densily, while at that time, the office building had aluminum, monumental partition facades, creating a modern business environment.
The shape of the high-rise residential building takes into account the orientation of the plot and the amount of sun. The trimmed southwest corner allows all the apartments on each floor to receive sunlight.
The shape of the office building is adjusted on the same principle: the cut-out opens up visual corridors for residents on the north side of the building, and for office workers - additional perspectives on the nearby park. These context-based architectural solutions not only make the most of the program, but also create exceptional courtyard spaces with a uniform volume solution.
